Hello, visitors!
Short Bio: I'm a punny card-toonist, writer/illustrator, sketcher, handmade book-maker, and educator. I show my work at zine fests, art shows, craft fairs, and comic-cons. When I am not drawing (or thinking about Koalas) I teach classes and workshops for youth and for adults.
Outside of adventures with pen and paper, I enjoy dance, theatre, botanical gardens, art shows, and cafes. I finished my MFA in Illustration from California State University, Fullerton, and have been loving to explore everything where I live in the PNW ever since.
I love to make new friends and am always up for commissions, teaching requests, and tutoring opportunities, so please reach out.

Longer (And Third Person) Bio:
Originally from New York, Donna also earned her B.A. there, graduating from Sarah Lawrence College in 2006. During a six month program studying abroad at Goldsmith's College, University of London, a professor opened her up to the world of alternative comics and illustration. She has been reading, looking at, and creating them herself, ever since. Since 2021, she has also discovered a love of urban sketching, making artist's books and accordion books in particular, and papercut art (and how that can also be a fun part of bookmaking).
She moved to the West Coast after finishing undergrad, with frequent visits back to New York. Donna has been teaching cartooning at afterschool programs and libraries in Los Angeles since 2010, while also working on freelance art, articles, and commissioned art pieces. She has had comics published in a few anthologies, and a story and illustrations published in the Port Townsend based magazine, "Strait Up Magazine," which is focused focused on "local, relevant, and inclusive print media covering art, culture, and the environment." Donna has shown work in group and juried exhibitions, as well as zine fairs and comic cons, throughout California, in Portland, OR, New York, NY, and Philadelphia, PA. As of 2020, she began teaching on Zoom, and now continues to teach classes and workshops online, as well as in person. Some of the classes she currently teaches in the Kitsap County and greater Seattle area include cartooning, illustration, and botanical illustration, and she teaches classes at art centers, art spaces, and libraries, as well as continuing education classes at Olympic College in Bremerton, WA.
Donna's bi-lingual handmade card-toons in the past were carried in Long Beach's Museum of Latin American Art. She belongs to SCBWI, the Puget Sound Book Arts Association, the Botanical Artists Guild of Southern California, and the Pacific Northwest Botanical Artists Guild. She completed her MFA in Illustration at California State University, Fullerton in January 2022, and is now based in the Pacific Northwest, Washington State.
